Mills to Blame for Worker Shortage

Still questioning whether Governor Mills made the wrong decision to not end the federal unemployment benefits that continue to discourage people to not go back to work?

Well, you will be hard-pressed to get a better definitive answer than the one given by Chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell today:

Statement from Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas:

“Maine small business owners struggle to find workers, and according to the Federal Reserve, Governor Mills deserves the blame,” said Maine GOP Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas. “Republican led states who ended unemployment benefits are back to work. Yet under Janet Mills’ leadership, family owned businesses are forced to shut their doors just because they cannot find people willing work.”
