Mills Must Call on Cuomo to Resign as NGA Chair

AUGUSTA, ME– Maine Republican Party Chair, Dr. Demi Kouzounas, released the following statement regarding serious credible allegations against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo:

“A scandal ridden politician the likes of Andrew Cuomo is unfit to serve as Chair of the bipartisan National Governor’s Association,” said Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas. “Governor Andrew Cuomo was already facing a federal investigation for allegedly lying to federal authorities about COVID nursing home deaths in his state. Now, women are coming forward to shed light on the Governor’s long history of sexual harassment in the workplace.”

“At a time when states’ governors have more authority than any other time in modern history, a scandal-plagued governor like Andrew Cuomo is unfit to lead the nation’s top executives. As a member the National Governors Association and a fellow Democrat, Janet Mills must take a stand against Cuomo’s inappropriate and potentially criminal behavior and demand he resign as leader of the National Governors Association.”
