While Janet Mills and her Democrat allies in Augusta are busy wasting federal bailout relief dollars on pet projects, our seniors in long-term care facilities are struggling.
For years, Republicans have been sounding the alarm that our nursing homes are understaffed and underfunded, putting seniors at risk. This is literally a life and death issue, but Democrats just don’t seem to care.
Despite over half of all COVID related deaths occurring in Maine’s long-term care facilites, Janet Mills refuses to provided desperately needed funding. This issue has only been worsened by the Democrats raising the state minimum wage.
As Senator Brad Farrin said in his interview with WCSH6, “the nursing homes are saying they can’t hire people, and they can’t compete with $16 an hour at McDonald’s, you know, and these are folks are taking care of our loved ones.”
Janet Mills is crippling Maine’s nursing homes, leaving them understaffed and underfunded. This must be addressed immediately.
