Senate Republican Leader Dana Dow is currently serving his second term, representing constituents of District 13 in the Maine State Senate. Senate District 13 consists of the municipalities and unorganized territories of Windsor, Washington, Alna, Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Bremen, Bristol, Damariscotta, Edgecomb, Hibberts Gore Township, Jefferson, Louds Island Township, Monhegan Island Plantation, Newcastle, Nobleboro, Somerville, South Bristol, Southport, Waldoboro, Westport Island, Whitefield and Wiscasset.
Currently, Senator Dow serves on the Marine Resources Committee. Previously, he served as Chair of the Taxation Committee and as a member of the Insurance and Financial Services Committee, the Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee and the Government Oversight Committee.
Prior to the 128th Legislature, he served for two terms in the Maine Senate and one in the Maine House of Representatives.
Senator Dow earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Southern Maine in 1973. He is a former school teacher and is the owner and president of Dow Furniture in Waldoboro. He also serves on the Waldoboro Planning Board, the Board of Directors for First National Bank and on the Board of Directors for both MSAD 40 in Waldoboro and Region 8 in Rockland.
Senator Dow and his wife Lisa reside in Waldoboro and attend Waldoboro United Methodist Church. Together, they have four children and two grandchildren.
Senator Jeff Timberlake, the Assistant Senate Republican Leader, is currently serving his first term in the Maine State Senate. He represents the people of Senate District 22, which consists of Litchfield, Wayne, Durham, Greene, Leeds, Lisbon, Sabattus, Turner and Wales.
Senator Timberlake currently serves on the Government Oversight Committee.
Prior to his service in the Senate, Timberlake served District 75 in the Maine House of Representatives for four consecutive terms. During this time, he served on the Appropriations Committee and the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee and in 2012 he served on the Maine Economic Development Committee.
A resident of Turner, Sen. Timberlake is a co-owner of Ricker Hill Orchards, an eighth generation family farm. He and his family also own multiple businesses including Northland TrueValue and Northland Holder Inc.
He is a graduate of Leavitt Area High School and CMMC in Auburn, where he specialized in Automotive Technology and Diesel Mechanics and an earned an Associate Degree in Business Management.
Sen. Timberlake served as a fireman for the town of Turner for thirty-seven years, Chairman of the Turner Planning Board for sixteen years and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for two years. He is currently a member of the Kora Shrine, Nezinscot Lodge and the Turner Ridge Riders.
His spouse of 41 years is Joline. Together, they have one child and two grandchildren.
