Lincoln Day is the annual celebration of the first Republican to be elected to the Presidency of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Every year, state and county Republican organizations gather together in a spirit of unity and fellowship as we honor the enduring legacy of President Lincoln.
This year, the Kennebec County Republican Committee has decided to host a brunch for our Lincoln Day event. We invite fellow Republicans, their families, and well-wishers to join us at the Manchester Fire Department on Saturday, March 16th. Doors will open at 10:30 AM and brunch will be served soon after.
Guest speakers include the former congressman of Maine’s second congressional district, the Hon. Bruce Poliqiun, and the Mayor of Waterville – and newly-elected Vice Chair of the Maine Republican Party – Nick Isgro.
Tickets are $20 per adult. Children eat for free. Tickets can be purchased here.
There’s no beating around the bush: the 2018 election was a difficult one for Maine Republicans. That’s why this year’s Lincoln Day event is of particular importance. Instead of licking our wounds, Kennebec County Republicans are choosing to come together so that we can forge a common purpose and restore our resolve.
Our ancestors faced seemingly insurmountable odds during America’s “War Between the States,” but when small bands of people came together, they overcame those odds and achieved victory. Let’s take to heart the lessons of this history and work towards a future that belongs to us and our posterity. That’s the true spirit of Lincoln Day.
I look forward to seeing you and your family on March 16th.
Chairman, Kennebec County Republican Committee
