Statement from Maine GOP Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas on Republican State Legislators Economic Concerns

AUGUSTA – Maine GOP Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas released the following statement in response to Republican State Legislators “Bad Bills” press conference:

“I applaud our Republican leaders in the State House for leading the fight against the massive number of ‘bad bills’ facing our legislature to ensure Maine stays ‘Open for Business.’” said Dr. Kouzounas.

“Everyday, Republican lawmakers are fighting back against the extreme far-left and anti-business policies being pushed through in Augusta. From taxing gas and heating oil, to attacking our most long-standing industries, and imposing burdensome regulations on small businesses, it’s clear Democrats have no interest in making Maine a business friendly state.

“With every passing day it becomes more clear that Janet Mills’ ‘New Direction for Maine’ is taking our state down the wrong path. Instead of focusing on creating jobs and retaining our younger population, the Democrats in Augusta are focusing on making it more difficult to operate a business and raiding Mainers hard-earned paychecks.”
