Representative John Andrews of Paris was elected on November 6th, 2018 to represent the best interests of the residents of Paris, Buckfield and Hebron in the State Legislature. In addition to serving on the Paris Board of Selectmen, he is also a member of the Paris Economic Development Committee; Paris Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization; Buckfield Economic Development Committee adviser; Buckfield Old Church on the Hill Committee adviser; Buckfield Community Day Committee adviser; Pink Feather Foundation; Nezinscot Valley Community Players; Oxford Hills youth football coach; Paris T-ball coach; member of Oxford Lodge No. 18 and the Kora Shrine; Norway-Paris Fish and Game Club; Waterford Fish and Game Club.
He was appointed to the Joint Standing Committee on Veterans and Legal Affairs, which has oversight over Claims against the State, liquor laws, lottery, non-profit and for- profit gambling games of chance, beano, raffles, slot machines, gaming devices), harness racing, off-track betting, election laws, campaign practices, campaign financing and the Maine Clean Election Act, voter registration, initiatives and referenda, governmental ethics, lobbyist registration, landlord-tenant laws, veterans’ programs, Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management Services (except the Maine Emergency Management Agency), Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations, and the Maine National Guard.
Representative Andrews enjoys competitive pistol shooting, fly fishing, hunting, coaching youth sports, and family time.
